We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated, in-office Senior Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team in Northern New Jersey. The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting the daily accounting operations, preparing accurate financial reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated, in-office Senior Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team in Northern New Jersey. The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting the daily accounting operations, preparing accurate financial reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to the general ledger
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring deadlines are met
- Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts regularly
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including vendor and customer reconciliations
- Prepare and analyze financial reports and schedules for management review
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses
- Maintain documentation to support external audits and internal reviews
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal control procedures
- Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements within the accounting function
- New Employee Onboarding and Payroll support
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA eligibility a plus).
- 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience (public accounting or corporate environment)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with QuickBooks On Line. NetSuite experience a plus
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary range: $75,000 – $85,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
